The Montgomery County Indians traveled to Winchester tonight to take on the George Rogers Clark Cardinals in the 40th District Tournament Championship Game.
Some people might call this game ugly, boring, or even hideous, but Coach Griesser saw his team carry out a game plan that he says gave the Indians the best chance to win. "I'm very proud of the way our kids carried out the game plan," said Griesser. "We were deliberate in our actions. Our offense was patient and our defensive pressure was effective. They hit some quick three's that really hurt but that was something we were willing to chance."
The Cardinals were 7/11 from the three point line.
Omar Prewitt led the Indians with 15 points. Jake Handshoe and Bradley Craycraft added 6 each. Tyler Fruth and Drew Robinson each had 4 points. Azrey Crisp had 3 and Seth Dotson had 2.
Despite the loss, the Indians will advance to the 10th Region Tournament. The draw will happen Sunday at 2:00pm. The brackets will be posted Sunday evening.
